Hallmark Worthy Long Island Towns

Holiday Flair Everywhere

Can't get enough holiday decor and lights? Love holiday movies? Then you won't want to miss these quaint Long Island towns with all of the Hallmark vibes.

Cold Spring Harbor

Charming town during the day but wait till the sun drops and see the stores illuminate with white lights.

Make sure to stop by Fireman's Park to see the town tree overlooking Cold Spring Harbor.

Northport

This town embraces it's Harbor setting with lights decorating the town dock and a tree right at the head of the Main Street. Make sure to check out the Park with the bedecked bandshell. Northport traditionally features three trees - one at the head of main, one on the village dock and one in the bandshell.

Oh and make sure to see the Leg Lamp in the window of the Firefly Artists Gallery!

Stony Brook

This quaint village center looks like a set from a movie. The Ward Melville Heritage Organization also hosts an annual tree competition which feels like an actual Hallmark storyline.

Don't forget to stop by the Country House Restaurant - you won't want to miss this magical eatery.

Greenport

It's a busy December in this NOFO town. The town is decorated with nautical flair - find lighted sail boats, anchors, seahorses and more. The stores in the town also have an annual window decorating contest.

Make sure to visit the Railroad Museum to on specific days to see Santa arrive from the North Pole by train.

Village of Amityville

Visit this quaint village center to take in all of the decorations. A decorated evergreen is the showstopper but you can't miss the trees lighted along the sidewalks. Plus can't you just imagine the brick courtyard and gazebo being the backdrop to a film scene?!

Babylon Village

Babylon Village delights with lighted buildings and painted windows. We could not take our eyes off of the decorations at Torta Fina Bakeshop and the Argyle Grill and Tavern. We could definitely imagine a few romantic scenes being set here.  Each year they host a Old Fashioned Christmas Night of Shopping.

Also be sure to take a walk at Argyle Park. Argyle Lake is a well . Homeowners take pride in their Holiday decor and the Village tree lighting takes place there every year.

Notable Holiday Stops

Huntington - this town has big town vibes but has incredible Christmas decor. The Huntington Spectacular is the centerpiece with a massive lighted tree with synchronized light shows and music. Also available are concessions and events.

Milleridge Inn - okay this is not a town but this is one of the most Hallmark worthy spots to visit. A village within itself, you can eat at the restaurant, grab something at the bakery and of course there is a Christmas Shoppe!

Port Jefferson - more than just a spot to pick up the ferry, Port Jeff is filled with restaurants and shops. Making the Hallmark worthy list because of the towns annual Dickens Village. Each year actors take up the roles from A Christmas Carol and take over the streets. It is truly a special weekend.

Montauk Lighthouse - not too sure what is more impressive than a lighthouse glammed up with lights for the holiday. Another great movie moment.

Big Duck - this attraction is particularly unique to Long Island and couldn't be cuter when it has it's holiday scarf composed of greens and lights. The Big Duck is so kitch that it's perfect for a Hallmark movie scene.
