It's the perfect time of year to start a tradition or continue one- the Huntington/Five Harbors area will be filled with holiday events from the end of November through December.

Holiday Fun In The Five Harbors

11/25- Start the fun in Northport Village as they light the village Christmas tree by the harbor and caroling add in some holiday cheer. Winterfest! in Northport includes holiday decorating and carolers throughout the month.

11/26- Shop small throughout the Huntington/Five Harbors Area. While your shopping make plans to gather for these great activities. 
Huntington's Holiday Parade and street festival will be starting off the Holiday season in grand style. After the parade, enjoy hot chocolate, tree lighting, horse and buggy rides and much much more. The gingerbread contest in conjunction with the parade is a must-see spectacle with delicious creations to be judged. 

The Vanderbilt Estate will also be lighting its Christmas Tree. Be sure to find some time to tour the decorated Vanderbilt Mansion. The mansion will be decked out in holiday decor till the end of December. The Vanderbilt Planetarium will also be running seasonal shows including Season of Light & The Longest Night: A Winter's Tale.

Head on over to Carl's Candies for the Annual Leg Lamp Lighting in Northport. 

December 3rd- Santa lights the tree at the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery. They will be serving cookies and hot chocolate until early evening.

December 4th - the Lloyd Harbor Historical Society invites you to visit Santa in the Barn at George Weir Barn on Lloyd Neck. The fun starts at 2pm and there will be free refreshments, music, a bake sale and a professional photographer. Please bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots to help spread the holiday cheer.

Cold Spring Harbor will be festively decorated so make the most of the season by taking a holiday stroll down historic Main Street. Listen to carolers Saturdays on December 3rd, 10th and 17th or take a carriage ride Sundays December 4th, 11th, and 18th. Don't forget to stop in one of the Main Street merchants to pick up holiday treats and gifts at the food, wine or gift shops.

Dec 18th- Santa makes a special stop in Cold Spring Harbor to meet the children and listen to their holiday wishes.

Dec 26th & 27th- Continue the holiday fun as Vanderbilt Mansion opens its doors for twilight tours of the decorated Vanderbilt Mansion.

All Month, see Mary Poppins at the Engeman theater and be dazzled by it's talented crew of Broadway caliber performers. The children's theater production of Frosty will melt the hearts of young and old.

December 9th-11th-  The Minstrel Players of Northport will be performing A Christmas Carol.

December 11th- Huntington Library/Station Branch- David Houston will be reading an abridgment of the beloved favorite "A Christmas Carol" filled with all its characters and ghostly moments. 

December 17th & 18th- the Lynch Ballet will be performing "The Nutcracker" at Huntington High School.
