Homeowners graciously open their doors to support our local historical societies and organizations including the North Shore Holiday House whose annual tours support summer camp for girls from low-income communities.

Many of Long Island's beautiful mansions now museums also "Deck the Halls" giving seasonal tours each year. 


Vanderbilt Mansion | Museum | Planetarium 

Guided tours of the decorated Vanderbilt Mansion will be given from the day after Thanksgiving through December 30. During the day, tours are given Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday (except December 24-25) starting at 12:30pm running on regular intervals until 3:30pm.
Special Twilight Tours-These popular annual tours will be given Thursday and Friday, December 27 and 28, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. This event is a treat for visitors, and the only time of the year the Vanderbilt family’s private living quarters can be seen at night.

December 6th: North Shore Holiday House

North Shore Holiday House is an independent, not-for-profit organization, that has provided free summer experiences to more than 200 Long Island children from low-income communities. Tour beautiful Lloyd Harbor area homes that are professionally decorated for the holiday season. A delicious lunch, compliment of Honu Kitchen & Cocktails in Huntington is included in the $85 ticket price. At lunch you will get to see and the opportunity to purchase tickets for wonderful raffle baskets. A $50 ticket option is also available which is just for the tour not the luncheon.

December 2nd: Huntington Historical Society's Historic Holiday House Tour

Each year in December the Huntington Historical Society arranges tours of local residences that date from Colonial times. The owners of these houses, open their homes as a service to the community and the Society, to demonstrate life styles throughout our country’s history. Every year the tour is unique, with a different theme. Also have the opportunity to tour the Society's two decorated house museums. A scrumptious array of refreshments is offered at the Conklin Barn. Tickets and sponsorships go towards the ongoing work of the Huntington Historical Society.

December 8th:  Northport Historical Society's Holiday House Tour

Northport Historical Society is inviting everyone to an enchanted evening in one of Northport's stunning Victorian homes on Bayview Avenue. Enjoy the homes beautiful holiday decor while you enjoy catered hors d'oeuvres and signature cocktails.

All proceeds from the tour go towards our scholarship award program and various local & charitable organizations.

December 1st- 40th Annual Candlelight House Tour

Tour five houses and other historical structures in East Setauket, Brookhaven's oldest settlement, founded in 1655. Presented in full holiday décor with attention to architectural features and Historic details.

December 8-9 & December 15-16 - Holiday Festival at Coe Hall

December 8th- 6th Annual Cutchogue Holiday House Tour

Help stock the local food pantries for the Holidays and Collect Toys For Tots for families in need on the North Fork.

December 8th- East Hampton Village Annual Tour of Historic Inns and places

The tour is self-guided and will begin at The Huntting Inn, where participants can check in and receive their maps. Participation in the tour is free as a gift from the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce, and each of the B & B’s will welcome guests with refreshments and conversations. 

December 8th- Webb House Holiday Party

Celebrate the holidays at the historic Webb House, an 18th-century tavern full of period furnishings and artwork from the Oysterponds Historical Society collections. Festive decorations and delicious holiday fare welcome you to this elegant year-end party.

December 8th & 9th - "Christmas with the First Ladies" A White House Christmas Tradition Holiday House Tours at the Sagtikos Manor 

Experience Christmas at the White House through the eyes of some of
America's First Ladies. You will be escorted on a tour through the festively
decorated first floor of the manor by our costumed docents.
