Get out, get fit, socialize and enjoy beautiful surrounding at these runs and walks in the Huntington area including those in Cold Spring Harbor, Lloyd Harbor's Caumsett State Park and the popular Huntington Townwide Fund's Thanksgiving Day Run.
11/24- Townwide Fund's Thanksgiving Charity Run- **It's not too late to register - 11/22 and 11/23, can register at Super Runner's Shop in Huntington. Can also register morning of event but registration fee goes up to $40.** Runners will start off at the head of Huntington Harbor and enjoy the scenic “out and back track” along the Mill Dam Road and West Shore Road passing Mill Dam Park, Gold Star Battalion Memorial Beach and the historic Coindre Hall. Enjoy the beautiful water views of Huntington Harbor for more than 3 miles!
11/26- Long Island Greenbelt Conference's Cold Spring Harbor Hill Hop- Work off some Thanksgiving dinner with one of the best hikes on Long Island! This section of the Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trail has some nice hills to make sure we get a great workout
11/26- NYS Parks's Just a Hike at Caumsett State Park- a 6 mile, hilly, moderately paced walk. Registration is required.
12/4- NYS Park's History of Caumsett- an approx. 2 mile walk with discussion about the park's social, economic, architectural and political history. Registration is required.
12/10- Long Island Greenbelt Conference's Caumsett Wanderings- explore the many side trails and great views at this beautiful park; some beach walking is also possible.
12/11- NYS Park's Tracks & Traces at Caumsett State Park- hands on program for adults to unravel the mystery of subtle signs that animal leave behind. Approx. 1 mile walk. Registration is required.
12/12- Long Island Greenbelt Conference's Caumsett Caper- Enjoy this beautiful park and walk the shoreline during this brisk 7 mile trek.
12/18- NYS Park's Photo Op Walk at Caumsett State Park- a hilly 1.5 mile stroll with brief stops along the way to discuss natural/historic interest spots. Registration is required.
12/24- NYS Park's Just a Hike (Serpentine) at Caumsett State Park- a six mile, hilly, moderately paced walk. Registration is required.
12/28- Long Island Greenbelt Conference's Cold Spring Harbor Hill Hop- Not for beginners! Easily one of the toughest hikes on L.I., with extremely rewarding view of the harbor and many ups and downs on the way.
