2023 Deck the Halls... 

Feel the joy of the season whilst enjoying beautifully decorated homes and historical buildings.  

Homeowners graciously open their doors or decorate to the nines to support local historical societies and organizations including the North Shore Holiday House, Huntington Historical Society and more. 

Many of Long Island's beautiful mansions now museums also "Deck the Halls" giving seasonal tours each year.

12/9 & 12/16 - Vanderbilt Mansion | Museum | Planetarium   - Sounds of the Season - Transport yourself to the heyday of Eagle’s Nest, a time when radio was the heartbeat of everyday life. Explore the festively adorned mansion and be serenaded by timeless Bing Crosby melodies, relive President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Christmas Eve commemorations, and be captivated by special holiday episodes of Suspense Radio. This holiday celebration masterfully captures the essence of the Golden Age of Radio, blending festive cheer with nostalgic charm.

11/30 - North Shore Holiday House - Holiday Sip & Stroll - North Shore Holiday House is an independent, not-for-profit organization, that has provided free summer experiences to more than 200 Long Island children from low-income communities. Enjoy music, sweets and treats as you stroll a beautiful Cold Spring Harbor neighborhood. 

Huntington/Lloyd Harbor

12/3 - Huntington Historical Society- Holiday Historic House Tour - the theme for the 2023 historic house tour is "Highlights of Historic Huntington."  This year's tour will have five houses; one owned by the Ketewamoke Chapter of the National Society of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. The four remaining houses include the Fort Hill Estate, the Buffet House in Huntington, one in Cold Spring Harbor, and one in Huntington Bay.

Select weekends-  Old Westbury Gardens - Christmas at Westbury House - Self-guided walk through the house. Gardens are also open. With decorated period rooms, Santa, cookies and cider.

12/1 & 12/2- Three Village Historical Society- Annual Candlelight House Tour - The 2023 tour,  will showcase 4 select local homes and a special historic stop serving food & drink! The Historic Caroline Church of Setauket will be featured in honor of their Tricentennial celebration! All of the destinations will be decorated in holiday finery by a team of talented decorators.This year’s theme is SHIPYARDS AND SHORELINES, inspired by the 439 ton whaling ship Daisy,which was built in 1871-72 at Nehemiah Hand's Shipyard which once stood along Shore Road in East Setauket.

12/2 - Cutchogue Holiday House Tour- Stroll and drive along the Tour Map and enjoy festive cheer and holiday shopping at our beautiful Businesses and Holiday Houses. The Tour starts at the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council and ends there later in the day with a jolly tree lighting. Stops along the way are Sannino Vineyard and Sannino Vineyard B&B, Blue Iris B&B, Alex Ferrone Gallery, Borghese Vineyard, and Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council. Includes: Lite Fare, Wine & Beverage Tastings, Free Samples, Specialty Discounts and Prix Fixe Menus just for Attendees

12/2 & 12/3- Sagtikos Manor Historical Society- "Decking the Halls at Sagtikos" - take a guided tour of the Sagtikos Manor all decorated for the holidays. 

12/16 & 12/17 - Planting Fields - Home for the Holidays- Tis the season for some festive fun! Enjoy a rare opportunity to see a stunning and festively decorated Coe Hall in full holiday splendor and spirit, with natural materials sourced from Planting Fields. Experience the magic of the season with live holiday music, crafts, activities and more, plus…snap a holiday photo with the Grinch! Don’t forget to see our Indigenous Tree with ornaments crafted by local students.

12/21-12/23 & 12/26-12/29- Old Bethpage Village Restoration - Candlelight Evenings- A fun-filled holiday experience featuring 19th century building lit by candlelight, an 1866 decorated Christmas tree, holiday brass quartet and fiddle music, traditional bonfire with hot apple cider and more!
